talk about a slick punch to the gut…
i think it is a tragedy that Roland Martin is being taken off the air on CNN because of his comments during the superbowl. While i do not agree with what he said personally, I do agree that freedom of speech should NOT be limited to positive talk or uplifting statements about everyone… in that case there is no room for personal opinion. This sets a VERY dangerous precedent that one cannot voice an opinion about a group without losing their speech but that same group can speak openly about how they feel without no repercussions.
This action is not helping the first amendment, but rather further proof that the current political climate is killing it softly.
